The teachers want the parents to understand the fact that they are on the same team when the child is being concerned. They want the success of the students and do not want to give any hard assignment to the students who are beyond their power of capacity. The teachers want the parents to work along with them and not against them. They want the parents to provide backup and follow-up instruction at home and even outside of the home. However, there are certain responsibilities that the teachers expect from the parents of their students which are being discussed below:
1) The teachers should be given time to respond.
The teachers expect the parents to give them some time to respond over the query. In this situation. The communication between the parent and that of the teacher is very important. However, it must be remembered by the parents that the teacher of a single child but of many. If any email or note is being sent, time should be given to the teacher to read it and respond to it accordingly. The parents will be amazed at the result when the appropriate time is being given to the teachers to read and even respond. Time should be given to the teachers to respond because they are handling many students, running a classroom, educating the students. Doing all of them together is not an easy task altogether.
2) Home should be considered as a classroom
Though it is the responsibility of the teachers to teach the students various subjects like the maths, history, science, it is not the responsibility of the teachers to teach the students everything. The parents must also play an active role in teaching the students like math homework history, science etc. Both the teacher and the parents together can give real education to the student which help the student in overall growth and development of the child or the student. In such a situation, it is the expectation of the teachers that the students will be learning the basic principles of life from their parents. The basic lessons of life that are the how to behave or treat others, knowing the right from the wrong, learning to cook etc. are the things that need to be taught at home by the parents. Apart from the education that is gained from the teachers of the school, the lessons of life will eventually help the students to prepare themselves for various situations at school and even in life. The knowledge of the student can be increased by utilizing the home as an environment of learning as well.
